Replace Missing Teeth with Natural-looking Dentures

Missing teeth can be embarrassing and negatively affect how you eat and speak.

When you lose one or more teeth, the bone in your jaw starts to shrink because it is no longer being used. This can lead to a number of other dental problems.

Dentures are an excellent way of restoring your smile if you have missing teeth. Dentures, or false teeth, are dental prosthetics made of acrylic, nylon, or metal that replace one or more of a person’s missing teeth. Our experienced dentists at Prospect Road Dental use a combination of 3D imaging technology and dental impressions to create modern dentures that feel like natural teeth when you bite down on them. Our goal is to make your custom-made dentures look as natural as possible.

FAQ About Our Dental Clinic In Armadale

We understand that you may have questions when seeing a new dentist for the first time. If your concern isn’t addressed
below, please feel free to contact our practice. One of our friendly team members will be happy to assist you.

Denture costs vary depending on the material they are made from, the type of dentures being made (complete denture or partial denture), and whether or not some extra features are included.

Initially, your new dentures may not feel comfortable in your mouth. Saliva production may also increase. Your mouth will eventually adjust to your new dentures, and these symptoms will go away as you get used to them.

Getting used to false teeth takes some time. Eating may be challenging as you adjust to your new dentures. During the first few days following a denture fitting, eat only soft foods. Try eating smaller bites at first. Cut your food into smaller pieces and gradually increase your bite size. Be sure to chew your food evenly on both sides of your mouth. By doing so, there will be equal pressure on the artificial tooth, reducing the risk of mouth sores.

It may also be difficult for you to speak as clearly as you did before you had dentures. This will get easier as you become accustomed to them. Practise speaking aloud to train your facial muscles and avoid speech disorders. You can also sing and use tongue twisters to practise your speech.

For dentures to fit, you need to have healthy gums and jawbones. The soft tissues must provide a significant amount of support for dentures. Your dentist will have to manage your gum disease first, which may include scaling and root planing, as well as other periodontal treatments.
